Overview
12 mm Carpenter's Flat Chisel with 115 mm Blade Made of Chrome-Vanadium Steel and Orange Handle with TPR Surface for Chiselling Pins and Grooves

The 12 mm flat chisel is one of the most commonly used widths in the workshop. It is wide enough for quick material removal yet narrow enough for precise chiselling of pins, grooves, and holes for locks or hinges. The blade measures 115 mm and features a straight edge with a bevel on one side, creating clean and straight walls. This chisel is useful for carpenters, joiners, woodcarvers, and DIY enthusiasts who make or repair wooden furniture at home. It is sold as a single piece, allowing you to easily complement your existing set of chisels.

The blade is made of chrome-vanadium steel and is securely attached to a metal core that runs through the entire handle to the metal butt. This construction is designed for use with a mallet, as the impact is directed straight into the steel core rather than into plastic. The ergonomic handle, measuring 125 mm, is covered with non-slip TPR material and is comfortable to hold even during prolonged use. The orange colour with black elements is easily visible in the workshop, making it easy to find even among shavings on the bench. The shape of the handle, with a slight narrowing in the middle, helps fingers find a stable grip and accurately direct the edge.

Secure the workpiece before starting to prevent movement during mallet strikes, and mark the exact boundaries of the chisel cut. Gradually remove material and direct the edge away from yourself. After use, clean the blade of shavings and moisture, and sharpen the edge as needed on a sharpening stone. Store the chisel separately or with edge protection to prevent the blade from being damaged by other tools. Before long-term storage, it is advisable to lightly coat the blade with oil as protection against moisture.

The 12 mm flat chisel is a reliable tool for precise joints as well as general wood adjustments in the workshop and at home. The tool steel blade is complemented by a comfortable handle that fits well in the hand and withstands use with a mallet. The weight of 177 g ensures good balance and stable guidance when chiselling. It is suitable for building and repairing furniture, fitting hardware, and woodcarving projects. Both novice DIY enthusiasts and experienced carpenters will appreciate it.
