Overview
Seeds of Giant Bamboo Bambusa bambos 50 pcs tropical grass clumping type with green stems for cultivation in a tub and conservatory

Bambusa bambos is an impressive species of woody grass that has been cultivated in Asia for hundreds of years and serves as a popular ornamental and utilitarian plant. The package contains 50 seeds, which is a reasonable number for most hobby growers who want to try cultivating true tropical bamboo at home. This species belongs to clumping bamboos, so it does not produce creeping rhizomes and remains manageable in a container throughout the growing period. Young seedlings are characterised by rapid elongation of stems in the second and third seasons and gradually form a dense clump with typically green woody stems. This bamboo originates from the warm regions of the Indian subcontinent and is recommended in our conditions as a tub plant, suitable for summer outdoor locations and winter shelter under a roof.

  • 50 seeds of Bambusa bambos

Growing Indian bamboo from seeds is a long-term affair, as the plants take several years to reach their full beauty. In the first year, the seedlings store energy in the root system, and in the second and third years, they begin to form stronger stems and gradually achieve the typical appearance of a bamboo clump. For successful sowing, it is advisable to use a mini greenhouse or a transparent cover that maintains constant humidity in the air and substrate, thus supporting the germination of tropical species. During the growing season, the plant will appreciate generous watering, regular fertilisation, and a warm location, while in winter it must be moved to a bright room with a minimum temperature above 10 °C. The package of 50 seeds of Bambusa bambos provides enough seeds for comfortable sowing in several batches, selecting the most vigorous seedlings, and creating your own small collection of tropical bamboos at home.
