Overview
Indian Nimba Azadirachta indica 10 pcs seeds exotic hardwood with serrated leaves and small oval fruits for collection

Indian Nimba, scientifically known as Azadirachta indica, represents one of the most characteristic hardwoods of the Indian tropics, and by cultivating it, you will acquire an interesting botanical specimen with a distinctive appearance. This advantageous pack contains 10 seeds, which you will appreciate especially for larger plantings or if you want to try multiple germination attempts and compare the growth rates among the individual seedlings. The tree features a densely foliated crown made up of compound pinnate leaves, whose leaflets have striking serrated edges and an elongated lanceolate shape complemented by a prominent central vein. Under the weight of the fruits, the branches bend downwards, creating picturesque drooping clusters of small oval drupes in a yellow-green colour, which are an inseparable part of its charm. In botanical collections and tropical cultures, it is an attractive specimen that enhances the atmosphere of exotic nooks and serves as an interesting contrast to more common houseplants.

In its native regions, the Nimba can reach up to twenty metres and create sprawling shady crowns; however, under Central European cultivation conditions, it remains much more modest and is easily maintained by pruning to a size suitable for pots or greenhouse beds. For successful growth, it requires stable warmth, an airy environment, and plenty of sunlight, ideally in spaces with a year-round temperature above ten degrees Celsius; otherwise, it will begin to shed its foliage. Choose a substrate that is permeable, light, sandy-loamy with a neutral or slightly alkaline reaction, to ensure that the roots do not remain waterlogged and do not rot. We recommend watering young plants moderately and gradually acclimatising them to longer periods without moisture, which will strengthen their natural resilience. Germination typically occurs within three to five weeks in a moist substrate warmed to a temperature of around twenty-five to thirty degrees, with fresh seeds generally having a higher success rate than older ones.

Sow the seeds in a light peat-sand mixture, lightly cover with soil, and maintain stable moisture along with a warm environment, ideally under foil or in a mini greenhouse. Young plants gradually gain strength during the first months, but over time they develop a characteristic intricate silhouette with an airy crown, and annual growth rates significantly accelerate. Indian Nimba will enrich any collection of tropical hardwoods and in the interior, greenhouse, or winter garden, it will become a rewarding cultivation object for many years to come.
