Overview
Hooker's Banksia Seeds Banksia hookeriana 5 pcs Rare Australian Shrub with Creamy Orange Flowers for Sowing and Exotic Collectors

Banksia hookeriana is an exceptional evergreen shrub native to the dry sandy plains of Western Australia, which botanists classify among the most attractive representatives of the proteaceous family. This small pack contains 5 carefully selected seeds, ideal for growers who wish to try cultivating this rare Australian woody plant from the very beginning. This species is characterised by robust candle-like inflorescences with creamy white to orange colour, resembling large warm-toned cones covered with a fluffy structure of tiny flowers. The leaves of the banksia are tough, leathery, grey-green, and characteristically serrated along the edges, making the plant stand out even outside the flowering period. Hooker's banksia is a collector's species and offers the grower an interesting challenge in sowing and caring for young plants.

Germination of banksias can be erratic and requires patience, so it is recommended to keep the substrate evenly slightly moist and the temperatures stable without large fluctuations. Before sowing, it is possible to briefly soak the seeds in lukewarm water, which can increase the likelihood of successful germination. Young plants are quite sensitive to overwatering and phosphorus fertilisation, so it is advisable to use specially formulated poor substrates intended for proteaceous species and to limit the use of standard universal fertilisers. When mature, Banksia hookeriana is characterised by long flowering periods and rich decorative value, making it suitable as a solitary plant in a container that can be placed outdoors in a sunny and airy location during summer. This pack of 5 Hooker's Banksia seeds is therefore intended primarily for those who wish to acquire an exceptional species for their collection and engage in its long-term cultivation.
