Overview
Corymbia Eximia Seeds 30 pcs Australian Tree with White Fluffy Flowers for Growing in a Greenhouse, Conservatory or as a Bonsai

Corymbia eximia is a rare Australian tree from the myrtle family, which also includes popular eucalypts. This package contains 30 seeds for growing this interesting hardwood at home, in a greenhouse or in a conservatory. The species was long classified among eucalypts, but based on recent botanical research, it has been reclassified into the new genus Corymbia, which includes groups of Australian myrtles with characteristic fluffy flower clusters. In its natural habitat, it grows in the mountainous regions of southeastern Australia, particularly in New South Wales.

The tree reaches a height of 10 to 25 metres with a spreading, arching crown at maturity. The leaves are leathery, long, lanceolate, bright green to grey-green, resembling eucalyptus leaves. The characteristic feature of the species is its white to cream flowers with a large number of long stamens, forming dense fluffy flower clusters at the ends of the branches. After pollination, woody capsule-like fruits gradually develop, from which the entire genus derives its name (corymbia = corymb, in Czech chochol).

For successful germination, it is advisable to sow the seeds on the surface in well-draining substrate at a temperature of 20 to 25 °C. Germination usually takes 2 to 6 weeks. Young seedlings require partial shade, regular watering, and constant warmth. Corymbia eximia is a heat-loving tree that thrives in European conditions only indoors, in a greenhouse, or in a heated conservatory.

Contents of the package:

  • 30 pcs of Corymbia eximia seeds

Growing this rare Australian hardwood from seeds presents an interesting challenge for enthusiasts of exotic plants and collectors of representatives of the myrtle family. A home-grown tree will become an attractive ornamental plant indoors or in a greenhouse, with striking foliage and a characteristic aromatic scent typical of the entire group of eucalypts. Young plants can be shaped by pruning into bonsai form or allowed to grow freely into a small tree. For successful long-term cultivation, a combination of sufficient light, well-draining substrate, and careful watering with standing water is important. During the winter months, watering is significantly reduced, and the plant thrives in a cooler room with temperatures of 8 to 12 °C.
