Overview
Cassia Grandis Seeds 10 pcs Tropical Ornamental Tree Pink and Orange Flowers for Growing in the Garden or in a Pot Exotic Timber

Cassia grandis is a striking tropical timber originating from Central and South America, where it is commonly referred to as pink shower or coral shower. The packaging contains 10 seeds allowing for the cultivation of this exotic plant at home, on the terrace, or in a heated conservatory. In its natural environment, it grows to a height of 15 to 25 metres and rewards each year with extensive hanging clusters of colourful flowers, alternating shades of pink and salmon. The tree forms a wide, arching crown made up of pinnate leaves, giving the plant a delicate appearance reminiscent of large ferns. In the tropical regions of the Caribbean, Mexico, and Brazil, this timber is planted as a shade tree in parks, avenues, and along roads.

For successful germination, it is advisable to slightly scarify the seeds before sowing, for example by gently sanding with sandpaper, and then soak them in warm water for about a day. After absorbing moisture, they are sown into well-draining substrate mixed with sand or perlite and germinate at a temperature of around 24 to 28 °C. The first sprouts usually appear within 2 to 4 weeks, although germination can sometimes take longer and requires patience. Young seedlings need light, warmth, and regular watering, allowing them to grow relatively quickly. Cassia grandis belongs to the species that cannot tolerate frost, but during the summer, it thrives outdoors in a sunny location, ideally in a partially sheltered position.

Growing pink shower from seeds is a rewarding activity for lovers of unusual plants and collectors of tropical flora. After a few years of growth, the timber begins to produce the first inflorescences, which reach a length of around 30 cm and create a striking contrast with the darker branches and surrounding greenery. After flowering, long cylindrical pods appear on the plant, which can reach lengths of up to 60 cm and gradually mature more seeds that can be reused for further propagation. Younger plants can be used as attractive specimens in a larger container, while older individuals find their place in the garden or atrium space. During the winter, the plant is placed in a bright room with a temperature above 10 °C, where it rests before the next growing season. For healthy growth, the plant needs plenty of space, light, and a warm environment practically all year round, supplemented with regular fertilisation during the summer months. The pink shower is among the plants that attract attention with their atmosphere of tropical landscapes right in the conditions of Czech households.
