You already have the maximum available quantity in your cart.
Bauhinia purpurea, commonly known as the purple orchid tree, is one of the most striking tropical hardwoods originating from the Asian region from India to southern China. This package contains 10 seeds, allowing you to grow your own young saplings of this decorative hardwood in our climatic conditions. The main attraction of the plant is its large five-petalled flowers in pink-purple with dark veining on the upper petal, contrasting with a lighter throat and prominent long curved stamens, which together create the impression of butterfly wings or orchids. Complementing the flowers are the characteristic bilobed leaves resembling a hoof, which give the entire crown a distinctive Asian appearance. This species is popular among collectors of tropical plants and is suitable as a container tree, a feature in a winter garden, or a solitary plant in a well-lit interior.

Contents of the Package:
- 10 seeds of Bauhinia purpurea
Before sowing, it is recommended to mechanically scarify the hard seed coat by lightly sanding or scoring, and then allow the seeds to swell overnight in lukewarm water, which significantly accelerates their germination. Sowing should be done into pre-moistened substrate in a covered tray, where stable warmth and humidity can be maintained. Young seedlings grow relatively quickly and after a few months begin to produce the first characteristic bilobed leaves, which are a clear sign of the Bauhinia genus. For successful long-term cultivation, the plant must be placed during winter in a well-lit room with temperatures above 12 °C, ideally in a winter garden or near a bright window, and watering should be reduced. This package of 10 seeds of Bauhinia purpurea provides a convenient supply of seeds for enthusiasts who wish to cultivate this charming Asian flowering hardwood and add it to their collection of tropical plants.
