Overview
African Wisteria Seeds Bolusanthus speciosus 40 pcs Deciduous Decorative Tree with Purple Clustered Flowers for Sowing and Bonsai Shaping

A larger pack of 40 seeds of the species Bolusanthus speciosus provides ample material for repeated sowing and for nurturing multiple seedlings, from which the most vigorous can be selected for further cultivation. The species originates from the South African savannah landscape, where it grows as a smaller deciduous tree with a characteristic upright crown. The main ornamental feature is the long drooping clusters of purple-blue butterfly-like flowers, which cover the mature individual during the flowering period and give it the appearance of a small wisteria. Complementing this are the delicate pinnate leaves with serrated edges, which lend the entire crown an airy character. In European hobby cultivation, this species is popular among bonsai enthusiasts and collectors of rare trees because it tolerates shaping well and maintains a compact form in a pot for a long time.

Contents of the Package:

  • 40 seeds of Bolusanthus speciosus

For larger packages, it is advisable to divide the sowing into several batches and experiment with different combinations of pre-sowing treatment, temperature, and moisture, which can help determine the most suitable method for personal cultivation. For successful germination, we recommend first gently scarifying the seeds with a fine file and then allowing them to swell in lukewarm water for several hours, which significantly improves germination. Young seedlings initially focus on developing their root system and gradually strengthen the thin trunk, which is important for later bonsai training. When shaping into bonsai form, gradual wiring during the dormant period and regular pruning of new shoots, which keeps the plant in a compact shape, are effective. This pack of 40 seeds of Bolusanthus speciosus is therefore an excellent option for anyone who wants to seriously engage in the cultivation and shaping of this unusual African tree in European indoor conditions.
