Seeds of Mexican Blue Brahea Armata 5 pcs Robust Fan Palm with Silvery Blue Leaves for Sowing and Decorative Home Cultivation
You already have the maximum available quantity in your cart.
Brahea armata, widely known as the Mexican Blue Palm, is an unmistakable fan-shaped tree native to the arid mountainous regions of Baja California and northern Mexico. This pack contains 5 seeds, allowing you to try growing this distinctive palm from germination. The main attraction of the plant is its unusual colouring – large, stiff fan-shaped leaves with a silvery blue waxy coating, which arch into an impressive crown atop a sturdy trunk. Complementing this are cubically structured remnants of leaf bases on the trunk, giving the mature palm the appearance of a classic desert solitaire. This species is among the slow-growing palms and is popular in European hobby cultivation as a container ornamental plant for large terraces, atriums, and well-lit interiors.

- 5 seeds of Brahea armata
Germination of the Mexican blue palm is among long-term processes, so it is important to arm yourself with patience and maintain a stable warm environment for several weeks to months. Before sowing, we recommend thoroughly soaking the seeds in lukewarm water for at least 24 hours, which will speed up water penetration into the hard shell and increase germination rates. Sow into well-draining sandy substrate, moist but not waterlogged, and place the dish in a bright warm location. Young seedlings grow very slowly in the first years and gradually produce the first fan-shaped leaves with an unmistakable blue hue, which increase in size with each passing year. For successful cultivation in our conditions, it is advisable to grow the palm in a spacious container, placing it in full sun outdoors in summer and moving it to a well-lit room or conservatory with temperatures above 5 °C before winter. This pack of 5 seeds of Brahea armata is an excellent choice for anyone wishing to try growing this unusual desert palm and add it to their collection of exotic trees.
