Drying Box for 3D Filament with Heating, Temperature Control, Humidity Control, LCD Display and Capacity for Up to 2 Spools
This fully enclosed drying box represents a modern solution for storing and drying 3D filaments, which tend to absorb moisture. Moist material causes breakage, poor layer adhesion, substandard surface quality, and overall print failure. This box can restore optimal properties to the filament, drying it in a controlled environment while also allowing printing directly from the box. The design is intended to be durable, robust, transparent, and allows continuous monitoring of the internal conditions.
The device can accommodate either two spools with a width of up to 70 mm, or one spool with a width of up to 150 mm. The maximum spool diameter is 210 mm. Overall, the box is designed for easy handling, comfortable threading of the filament into the guiding tube, and smooth unwinding (with spools placed on bearings inside the box). The internal structure uses bearings at the bottom, ensuring stable and smooth rotation of the spools.
The body of the box is fully transparent, allowing real-time monitoring not only visually but also through the LCD display. The display shows the current temperature and humidity inside the box. The manufacturer recommends using a temperature range of 40 °C, 45 °C, or 50 °C. The drying time is selectable within a range of 6 to 12 hours. If the ambient room temperature is below 16 °C, the internal temperature may not reach 50 °C – however, this does not negatively affect the quality of drying.
Settings are made using three buttons: the main power switch, a function button, and a value change button. The display allows switching modes to show the heating progress, remaining time, or current temperature and humidity. If no action is taken for 3 minutes after setting, the display will turn off while the device continues to operate.
The device includes sealing elements made from silicone and Teflon materials, which allow for long-term storage without the heating being turned on. During drying, it is recommended to open the top seal to allow moisture to escape.
Part of the operating procedures includes a safety instruction: do not touch the bottom of the box during heating due to the risk of burns. The lid is lockable using snap clips. In the event of filament jamming, the top lid can be lifted during printing to guide the filament back through the guiding hole.
Recommended temperatures for various types of filaments: PLA, wood, PETG, TPU, PA, ABS, and PC in the range of 40–50 °C with drying times between 6 to 12 hours. In case of malfunctions, error codes may be displayed: „LL“ (low temperature), „E0“ (electronic fault), and „E1“ (thermistor issue). If an error is indicated, it is recommended to check the cable connectors on the control board.
The external dimensions of the box are 254 mm in length, 127 mm in width, and 237 mm in height. Power supply is via a European connector. The weight of the box itself is approximately 1.4 kg. Inside the packaging, there is the drying box, guiding tube, two shafts for spool storage, four bearings, a rubber plug, and an electronic thermometer with hygrometer (without battery).
The device is fully compatible with 1.75 mm and 2.85 mm filaments and can be used for materials such as PLA, PETG, TPU, ABS, and other common types used in FDM printing. Even air circulation is ensured by a built-in fan controlled by a uniform circulation system, which contributes to faster, more uniform, and efficient drying.
Contents of the package: 1x drying box
This drying box is a practical and essential accessory for any 3D printer user. It allows printing directly from the inserted spool, protects the filament from moisture and dust, stabilises the material properties, and extends its lifespan. Thanks to the transparent design, you have constant oversight of the supply status and drying process without the need to open the lid.
