Christmas garlands and chains
Doors, windows, banisters, mantelpieces and the tree can all be decorated with pieces that form a continuous line of greenery, sparkle or colour. Christmas garlands and chains include dense artificial pine garlands, shiny garlands with LED lights, felt, fabric and paper garlands, and shiny PVC chains, some decorated with bows or stars.

Artificial pine needles make up dense garlands 1.7 to 2.7 m long that can be bent and shaped to fit the spot. Some are S-shaped and others come with lights. There is also a 5 m garland with silk leaves.
Shiny garlands with LED lights are 2 or 5 m long. The warm white model runs on 3 AA batteries, so it needs no socket, while the versions with 20 or 50 RGB LEDs fade or flash between colours, depending on the selected mode.
Felt garlands 2.5 to 3 m long carry the words Merry Christmas in letters about 14.5 cm high or ornaments measuring 17 to 20 cm. The paper garlands are 3 and 4 m long, and the non-woven fabric garland is 3 m.
In red, gold and metallic shades there are shiny PVC chains 1 to 7 m long, plain or with bows and stars. The 9 cm wide chain with bows can also be used outdoors.
The location and the length needed matter most when choosing, so it is worth measuring the door, window or banister before buying. Garlands with battery-powered lights can be hung even where there is no socket.
