Cat collars
A cat's collar plays a different role than a dog's — it is rarely used for walking on a leash, but rather for identification, to warn the surroundings and as a decorative accessory. The range of cat collars therefore emphasises safety, low weight and comfort.
The most important element is the safety breakaway buckle, which opens under tension if the cat gets caught somewhere and thus prevents strangulation. Many collars have reflective elements for better visibility in the dark and a bell that warns birds and small animals. They often also include a ring or a plate for the address tag, or a holder for a tracking tag.
The material and appearance also differ — light nylon and textile collars are easy to clean and come in a wide range of colours and patterns, while soft and velvet models are pleasant on the fur. The width and weight are chosen so as not to restrict the cat.
When choosing, start from the neck circumference and the cat's age — the collar should sit comfortably, with two fingers fitting between the neck and the strap. For cats that go outside, always choose a model with a safety buckle and consider reflective elements. Get a new cat used to the collar gradually and check regularly that it fits well.
