Carnival masks

A masquerade ball mask, a scary Halloween mask or a light-up party mask finishes off a costume and often does the whole transformation on its own. Carnival masks include lace eye masks, latex masks that cover the whole head, animal and cosplay masks, mechanical half masks and masks with LED lighting.

Carnival masks

For balls and masquerade parties, lace masks are the most popular choice, covering only the eyes and the upper part of the face. They are light, do not get in the way of talking or drinking, and black, white or gold lace goes well with an evening dress or suit. Some are shaped like cat ears or bat wings.

Latex masks that cover the whole head are made for Halloween and horror parties, for example skulls, clowns or werewolves. They cover the entire face, so it is worth checking the openings for the eyes and breathing. A new latex mask may have a strong smell at first; simply let it air out before use. Anyone with a latex allergy should choose a different material.

Light-up masks with LEDs stand out at events in the dark; before the party, check the batteries or charge the mask. Animal masks in faux leather or plush and mechanical half masks in steampunk style suit cosplay and themed costumes.

When choosing carnival masks, what matters is the occasion and how long you will wear the mask. For a whole evening, an eye mask or half mask is more comfortable, while a full-face mask is better suited to shorter periods. For children, it is important that the mask does not restrict side vision.
