The wooden shape sorter is a toy designed to practise fine motor skills for children. It consists of a wooden board with cut-out holes and colourful wooden pieces that fit precisely into the holes. The child searches for where each piece belongs, turns it in their fingers, and tries to place it in the correct spot. In a playful way, they become familiar with different shapes and learn to distinguish between them. The game is easy to understand, so the child can manage it without lengthy explanations.
- Fine Motor Skills — grasping the pieces and accurately placing them into the holes engages the fingers and the whole hand. The child learns to control small movements and to rotate the piece so that it fits into the hole.
- Shape Recognition — each hole in the board has its shape, and the pieces will only fit if the child selects the correct ones. Therefore, they must compare shapes and find where each belongs. This way, they gradually memorise the individual shapes.
- Wooden Design — both the board and the pieces are made of wood. The pieces are thick and slightly protrude from the board, making them easy to grasp.
- Bright Colours — the pieces have vibrant colours that stand out well against the light board. The colourful shapes attract the child's attention and add variety to the game.
- Simple Game — the shape sorter requires no batteries or complicated setup. Just empty the pieces from the board, and the child can start placing them back in the correct spots, over and over again.
- Contents of the Package — 1x set of wooden shape sorter (board and pieces).
The wooden shape sorter with coloured pieces is a toy that combines play with learning. The child can play with it independently or together with an adult who can name the individual shapes. Through repeated placement of the pieces, they gradually master the shapes and practise the fine movements of their fingers. The wooden board and vibrant colours of the pieces make it a delightful toy for a child's room.
