Protection against rain is ensured by a waterproof treatment with a parameter of PU 1500 mm. This figure describes the so-called water column – if a "column" of water 1500 mm high were to stand on the fabric, water would still not seep through. In practical terms, this means the tent can easily withstand heavy rain, prolonged showers, and humid environments. The fabric is designed not to leak even with occasional contact from the inside, so you need not worry about accidentally pushing drops inside your sleeping bag.
The construction uses lightweight poles and double walls. The inner tent is largely made of mesh, which ventilates well and limits moisture condensation, while the outer fly (tropico) protects against rain and wind. Between the two layers is an air gap that acts as simple insulation – when moisture condenses on the tropico, drops do not fall directly onto you or your sleeping bags. Entrances and porches on both sides provide space for storing backpacks and shoes without obstructing the sleeping area.
A significant advantage is also the simple and quick setup. The poles connect to form a single frame, to which the inner tent is attached using hooks, and finally, the tropico is pulled over and tensioned. The entire process can be managed by a beginner in just a few minutes without the need for any special tools. Once disassembled, the tent returns to a compact bag that takes up little space in a backpack – especially appreciated during multi-day crossings, where every centimetre counts.
The materials used are easy to maintain, dry quickly after rain, and have a long lifespan with normal handling. The internal space is designed to provide enough sleeping space for two persons and basic handling of equipment. Assembly instructions:
Spread the tent on the ground and secure the four corners with pegs.
Assemble the tent pole and insert its ends into the anchors in the corners.
Attach the hooks of the inner tent to the frame.
Drape the tropico over the frame, secure the canopy fastening buckle, and connect the clips in the corners between the inner and outer tent.
Tighten the straps and tension the entire tent.
Attach the guy lines to the anchoring points and secure them with pegs for increased wind resistance.
Open the porch, set up the canopy, and secure it with pegs and guy lines.
