The metal lock for sliding windows is directly fitted onto the track along which the window sash moves. It has two feet on the underside that grip the track from both sides. At the top, there is a rotating knob with a protrusion for gripping with fingers. When fitted, the lock acts as a stop, preventing the sash from moving past it. Depending on where you place it on the track, you determine how far the window can be opened.

  • Fitting onto the track — place the lock on the track so that the feet fit in from both sides. The photographs show the lock fitted onto the tracks of various sliding windows. Before purchasing, ensure that the lock will fit onto the track of your window.
  • Rotating knob — the knob is located on the rounded front part of the lock and has a prominent protrusion. You can grip the knob by the protrusion with your fingers, allowing you to operate the lock directly by hand.
  • Stop function — the fitted lock stops the movement of the window sash. When placed close to the sash of a closed window, the window cannot be opened. When placed further from the sash, the window can only be opened to the point where the lock is positioned.
  • Removing the lock — when you need to open the window fully, you can remove the lock from the track. You can later refit it to the same or a different position.
  • Material and dimensions — the lock is made of metal. It measures 6 x 3.5 x 3 cm.

The lock with a rotating knob is a simple way to restrict the opening of a sliding window. Just fit it onto the track at the point where you want the sash to stop.
