The Retevis RT3S is a handheld transceiver in the version with a built-in GPS module, which operates in both digital and analogue modes. Transmission can be secured with AES256 encryption, ensuring that communication is not easily intercepted by surrounding receivers. The stated range is 5 km depending on conditions and terrain features. The device is in black with a colour display that shows two frequencies stacked, the zone name, date, and time. Below the display is a full numeric keypad for direct input and at the top are two separate rotary knobs.
Main Features:
- GPS — version with a built-in position receiver
- AES256 Encryption — securing digital transmission against eavesdropping
- Digital and Analogue Modes — in analogue mode, you can set VOX and TOT, in digital mode additionally Color Code, Time Slot and Contacts
- Range 5 km — communication over medium distances depending on conditions and obstacles
- VFO Support — adding channels and adjusting frequency directly from the keypad without connecting to a computer
- Colour Display — simultaneous display of two channels, zone name, date, time, battery status and signal strength
- Numeric Keypad — numeric block with alphanumeric input, up and down arrows, and buttons for establishing and ending connections
- Two Rotary Knobs — separate control for channels and volume at the top of the body
- Side Buttons — PTT button for transmission and two programmable buttons below it
- Keypad Lock — protection against accidental pressing in a pocket or backpack
- Speaker — grille at the top of the front
- Screw Antenna — removable antenna with a standard thread
- Robust Body — black plastic with a textured surface to prevent slipping
Package Contents:
- 1x Retevis RT3S Transmitter
The transceiver is suitable for outings, fieldwork, warehouses, construction sites, and for coordinating teams where mobile signal is unreliable. The combination of digital mode and AES256 encryption is the main reason to choose this model over a regular analogue transmitter — communication remains intelligible only to your group. VFO support and the keypad mean that you can adjust channels and frequencies directly on the device, without a programming cable and software. Two rotary knobs separate channel selection and volume, allowing you to adjust both without looking, even while wearing gloves. The stated range applies to open space; in denser environments or rugged terrain, it will be shorter. This version is supplied as the radio unit only, without additional accessories.
