A reliable sensor for detecting rain and humidity operates on the principle of conductivity change between parallel metal paths on the detection board. When water droplets hit the surface, the resistance between the paths decreases, and the evaluation circuit with the LM393 comparator registers this and activates the output. The module offers both a digital output for simple switching (0 or 1) and an analog output that can be read directly from the microcontroller to assess the intensity of rain or humidity. The potentiometer on the board allows for fine adjustment of sensitivity to respond precisely to your needs.

The sensor is a popular component in custom automation projects - it can trigger the retraction of an awning at the first drops of rain, close a roof window, turn off garden watering, send a notification to a mobile phone, or activate a flood alarm in a technical room. The digital output connects directly to the input pin of the microcontroller and can be read as a logical 0 or 1, while the analog output connects to the AD converter input and the value between 0 and the maximum voltage indicates the current intensity of humidity. When powered with 5V and no water on the board, the digital output is at logical 1; as soon as the droplets hit, it switches to 0 - the logic is therefore inverted, which is standard for this type of module. The detection board can be positioned at an angle or vertically outside on a window, sill, or roof to allow water to drain away after impact, enabling the sensor to dry out after rain and return to its idle state.

How do I return goods?
- Email us at info@lunzo.ie with your order number and the items you are returning.
- Pack the goods and send them by post to the returns address in Spain.
- Send us the proof of dispatch with the tracking number – this lets us refund you without waiting for the parcel to arrive.

If the goods need to be sent back, we will refund the postage for a valid claim (just provide the receipt).
