Overview
Pad between chip and cooler 120 x 20 x 2.25 mm with thermal conductivity 21 W/m.K grey cuttable for graphics cards and consoles

The pad between the chip and cooler, with a thickness of 2.25 mm, bridges the gap that thermal paste would not fill. It is mainly used during the servicing of graphics cards and gaming consoles, where the cooler does not sit directly on the components above the memory or power circuits. Thermal conductivity 21 W/m.K allows heat to be transferred from the components to the cooler, from where it is dissipated by the fins and fans. The pad is supplied as a grey strip 120 x 20 x 2.25 mm, which can be cut to the shape of the chips. It is covered on both sides with a blue protective film.

  • Thickness 2.25 mm – the pad must match the distance between the component and the cooler as closely as possible. This measurement is best obtained by measuring the original pad after disassembling the device or from the manufacturer's service documentation.
  • Heat dissipation – the value of 21 W/m.K is suitable for memory chips, power transistors, SSD controllers, and other components that heat up under load. The pad also adapts to slight surface irregularities, ensuring that no air pockets remain between the chip and the cooler.
  • Insulating properties – the pad does not conduct electricity and the parameter table indicates breakdown voltage of at least 9.8 kV per 1 mm. It can therefore be placed directly on populated components even over their leads.
  • Any shape – rectangles and narrow strips can be cut from the 120 x 20 mm strip with scissors according to the arrangement of the chips. A single continuous strip can also be placed over a longer row of components. Any unused remainder of the strip can be kept for future repairs.
  • Film on both sides – the blue protective film keeps the surface clean and simplifies cutting. It is removed only during assembly, first from the side adjacent to the chip and then from the side that will be in contact with the cooler.
  • Suitable devices – graphics cards, gaming consoles, laptops, M.2 SSDs, processors, and chipsets on motherboards, where the manufacturer accounts for a gap of 2.25 mm.

Contents of the package:

  • 1x pad between chip and cooler 120 x 20 mm

The grey pad 120 x 20 x 2.25 mm is suitable for replacing old pads that have hardened, deformed, or been damaged during the removal of the cooler after years of use. Before installation, any remnants of the original material should be removed and the chips cleaned. The pad is then cut to the required pieces, the film is removed, it is placed on the components, and the cooler is returned to its place. Thickness 2.25 mm is intended for devices where the manufacturer accounts for this gap. One strip is usually sufficient for an entire group of components, such as memory and power supply of the graphics card.
