Overview
Pachypodium rutenbergianum Seeds 10 pcs Succulent Tree with Thorny Trunk and Large White Flowers For Pot and Succulent Collection

Pachypodium rutenbergianum is a succulent tree from Madagascar that captivates with its swollen trunk covered in thorns and large white flowers. The striking white flowers emerge at the top of the plant among the young leaves, as clearly shown in the image of the flowering plant. Water is stored in the swollen trunk, allowing the plant to withstand drought well and requiring only careful watering, as is typical for the entire Pachypodium genus. The pack contains 10 seeds, from which you can grow your own plant from the very beginning and observe each stage of its development. This species is sought after among succulent collectors and houseplant growers, and in our conditions, it is cultivated in pots.

Key Features:

  • Large white flowers — striking white flowers grow at the top of the plant, creating a stunning contrast with the swollen thorny trunk and are the main decoration of the plant during flowering.
  • Thorny trunk — the swollen trunk is densely covered with thorns, which are characteristic of the Pachypodium genus and give the tree an unmistakable desert appearance distinct from ordinary houseplants.
  • Succulent tree — this species belongs to succulents that store water in their trunk, therefore it tolerates longer periods of drought and requires only careful watering, making it low-maintenance even for busy growers.
  • Green leaves — green leaves grow at the top of the trunk, enlivening the otherwise bare trunk and completing the overall appearance of the plant; during the dormant period, the plant may shed them.
  • Fruits are not consumable — the plant is grown exclusively for ornamental purposes, and no part of it is used for consumption; it serves only for decorative and collecting purposes.
  • Pot cultivation — the plant is grown in pots in a sunny location, benefiting from being outdoors in summer and moved to a bright, warmer room with limited watering in winter.
  • Pack of 10 seeds — the pack provides a sufficient supply for growing multiple plants at once or for repeated sowing at different times or sharing with other growers.
  • Growing from seeds — you have control over the entire development of the plant from germination to mature trunk, allowing you to adapt it to your conditions and experience.
  • Careful handling — the trunk is densely covered with thorns, so it is advisable to handle the plant carefully during repotting, ideally wearing gloves to avoid injury.
  • Striking specimen — due to its thick trunk and large flowers, the plant serves as a striking focal point and also stands out as a solitary piece on a windowsill or in a conservatory.

Contents of the package:

  • 1x pack of Pachypodium rutenbergianum seeds (10 pcs)

Pachypodium rutenbergianum seeds are a great choice for succulent collectors and lovers of unusual caudex trees. The thorny trunk and large white flowers make this plant a striking piece that will adorn a windowsill, greenhouse, or succulent collection, and it will not go unnoticed during flowering. The pack contains 10 seeds, so you can try growing from scratch and watch how a small seed grows into a succulent tree with its own trunk. Growing succulents from seeds is low-maintenance, but it requires patience as the plants grow slowly. If you are looking for a striking succulent tree for a pot, these seeds are a good choice.
