This bass ocarina is made from purple clay and fired using the traditional smoky firing technique, which creates unique dark and copper shades on its surface. The instrument features 12 holes and bass C tuning, offering a wide tonal range for folk songs, classical pieces, and film melodies. The tone of the ocarina is dark, rich, and deep, making it well-suited for solo playing as well as ensemble performance. The matte surface without glaze is pleasant to the touch and holds well in the hands. The ocarina will delight advanced players seeking a quality instrument in a specific tuning, as well as collectors of musical instruments.
The ocarina measures approximately 27 x 11.5 x 8.5 cm (length x width x height). On the top side, there are tactile holes for the fingers of both hands, on the bottom side, there are thumb holes, and at the end is a dark mouthpiece into which air is blown. The body of the instrument features a carved tuning mark and the manufacturer's signature, ensuring that you won’t confuse ocarinas of different tunings. As this is a handmade product with smoky firing, the patterns and shades of the surface may vary slightly between individual pieces, making each instrument unique. Due to the natural material, the ocarina has a warm sound that stands out in a quiet room, on stage, or during recording. The instrument is delivered in a cardboard box that protects it during transport. After playing, simply allow the ocarina to dry and store it in a dry and safe place.
