This alto ocarina is made from purple clay and fired using the traditional smoky firing technique, which creates unique dark and copper hues on its surface. The instrument has 12 holes and Alt G tuning, offering a wide tonal range for folk songs, classical pieces, and film melodies. The tone of the ocarina is soft and deep, making it suitable for solo playing as well as ensemble performance. The matte surface without glaze is pleasant to the touch and holds well in the hands. The ocarina will delight advanced players seeking a quality instrument in a specific tuning, as well as collectors of musical instruments.
The ocarina measures approximately 21.5 x 12.5 x 6 cm (length x width x height). On the top side, there are tactile holes for the fingers of both hands, on the bottom side are thumb holes, and at the end is a dark mouthpiece into which one blows. On the body of the instrument, there is a carved tuning mark and the manufacturer's signature, ensuring you won't confuse ocarinas of different tunings. As this is a handmade product with smoky firing, the pattern and shade of the surface may slightly vary between individual pieces, making each instrument unique. Due to the natural material, the ocarina has a warm sound that stands out in a quiet room, on stage, or during recording. The instrument comes in a paper box that protects it during transport. After playing, simply allow the ocarina to dry and store it in a dry and safe place.
