Overview
Large Pack of Mountain Papaya Seeds Carica pubescens Cundinamarca 100 pcs Rare Andean Timber Tree with Fruits for Professional Sowing and Nurseries

Professional pack of 100 pcs of seeds of the Cundinamarca variety is primarily intended for commercial growers, developed hobby nurseries, and anyone planning systematic propagation activities with this rare Andean fruit plant. Carica pubescens is among the hardiest representatives of the papaya genus – in its countries of origin, it is cultivated at altitudes of around 1500 to 3000 metres, where temperatures often drop very low. The species forms a smaller tropical tree with a single trunk, on which yellow ribbed fruits ripen in mature plants with aromatic dense flesh. The apex crown is composed of large palmate lobed green leaves, giving the mature plant its typical papaya appearance. The fruits are a popular source of raw materials for traditional compotes, pastes, jams, and hot dishes in Latin America, making this variety interesting for fruit enthusiasts and chefs alike.

Bulk packaging is the optimal choice for systematic propagation projects in nurseries or for growers with more extensive cultivation plans. For successful sowing, we recommend using a professional germination system with heated propagators and adjustable humidity, where a stable temperature of around 22 °C can be maintained throughout the germination period. Before sowing, soak the seeds in lukewarm water for 24 hours and then sow them into permeable substrate in seedling trays. When dealing with a large number of seedlings, it is advisable to gradually prick them out into individual containers and transplant them to permanent locations. In the context of European cultivation, the species is best suited as a container fruit plant for cooler conservatories and greenhouses, where it grows to smaller dimensions than the classic papaya and is therefore more suitable for space-limited cultivation areas. This pack of 100 seeds of Carica pubescens 'Cundinamarca' is thus an ideal choice for professional growers who wish to work systematically and long-term with this unconventional Andean timber tree.
