Overview
Ignition Tester and Fault Detector QDB-4A 17 x 9.8 x 2.8 cm with LCD Display and PWM Output for Injectors and Stepper Motors Black

The QDB-4A ignition tester is used to check the electrical components of a vehicle and to locate faults in ignition, injection, and idle control. One device handles tests for injectors, ignition coils, electromagnetic valves, and stepper motors. Additionally, it offers a Hall sensor signal output and a PWM generator with adjustable frequency and duty cycle. It is powered by direct current voltage 8 to 28 V via the supplied power cable with crocodile clips. Set and measured values are displayed on the LCD display, which shows a specific overview of parameters for each mode. Modes are switched using a button, and testing is started and stopped with a separate button. Frequency and pulse width are adjusted using two rotary controls.

  • Injectors and Ignition Coils – during testing, frequency and pulse width are set in microseconds. The display shows the input and regulated voltage, and for injectors, it also shows the current drawn.
  • Valves and PWM Output – the rectangular signal generator operates with a frequency of 1 to 100 kHz and a duty cycle of 0 to 100 %. It can be used to control electromagnetic valves and other actuators driven by PWM signals.
  • Power Supply and Hall Signal – the output current reaches 0 to 2.5 A, which is sufficient to power the tested components. A separate socket provides a signal for checking circuits with a Hall sensor.
  • Stepper Motors for Idle Control – the test operates with a current of up to 15 A. The direction of rotation, right or left, is selected using two buttons, and the motor is connected via a four-pin connector on the side of the device.
  • Multimeter – built-in measurement of direct current voltage from 0 to 30 V and resistance from 0 to 1 MΩ, with results displayed on the main screen.
  • Compact Design – the black body measuring 17 x 9.8 x 2.8 cm features colour-coded sockets and a power connector located on the side.

Package Contents:

  • 1x QDB-4A Tester
  • 1x Power Cable
  • 3x Testing Connecting Cables
  • 4x Individual Connectors
  • 1x Connector for Idle Stepper Motor
  • 1x Cable for Soldering Stepper Motor

The QDB-4A combines a source of control signals, power supply, and a simple multimeter in one device. Individual components can thus be controlled directly from the tester. Based on their response, it can be determined whether the fault lies within the component itself or elsewhere in the circuit. In addition to injectors and coils, it also covers testing of stepper motors with a current of up to 15 A, which is useful when checking idle control. The power output with a current of up to 2.5 A and adjustable PWM frequency extends its use to other electromagnetic actuators, such as solenoids. Thanks to its compact dimensions and supplied cables, the tester is easy to transport and connect, making it suitable for both automotive workshops and home vehicle repairs.
