Overview
Fonkan S70 Animal Microchip Reader Bluetooth and USB Memory 500 Records FDX-B and EMID ISO 11784/85 Display 3.66 cm Black For Dogs and Cats

The handheld microchip reader scans the animal's identification number from the subcutaneous transponder or ear tag and transmits it to your phone or computer. Bluetooth with a range of up to 20 m allows you to send scanned numbers directly to a mobile app or spreadsheet, so you do not need to have a laptop with you. Supports FDX-B and EMID formats according to ISO 11784/85 standards, meaning chips commonly used in dogs, cats, and livestock. The scanned number is displayed on a colour screen with a diagonal of 3.66 cm along with the date and time. The black body with a loop eye can be held in one hand and is operated with three buttons below the display.

  • Three transfer methods — send data via Bluetooth, wirelessly at 2.4 GHz, or via USB 2.0 depending on where you maintain your records.
  • Wireless range — the connection at a frequency of 2.4 GHz works up to 80 m, so when checking in the stable, you do not have to run to the computer.
  • Keyboard emulation — the reader identifies as a keyboard, so the number is directly typed into the spreadsheet without the need for driver installation.
  • Record memory — the internal memory holds 500 records, which you can transfer in bulk after completing your rounds.
  • Reading range — you can read the chip from a distance of 0 to 20 cm, and the range for ear tags is greater than for small glass chips.
  • Reading speed — reading takes less than 100 ms and is confirmed by a beep.
  • Operating frequency — the device reads at 134.2 kHz and 125 kHz, which corresponds to common animal transponders.
  • Operating conditions — the reader operates from -10 to 50 °C, so you can use it in the stable as well as outdoors.
  • Dimensions — the body measures 17.8 x 8.5 x 1.7 cm and fits into the pocket of a work vest.
  • Package contents — 1x microchip reader

The Bluetooth variant is suitable for veterinarians in the field, shelter workers, and breeders who maintain records on their mobile or tablet. Directly entering the number into the app eliminates errors that occur when manually transcribing fifteen-digit codes. The built-in 800 mAh lithium battery lasts through a normal round without recharging and charges via USB. Before purchasing, check what chip format you use in your breeding, as the reader will not read chips outside the ISO 11784/85 standards. The device's interface is available in English, Chinese, and Japanese.
