Engraving cutters with a tip of 40° x 0.2 mm offer a balanced angle and a tip that is more durable than the finest variants. They create clean V-shaped grooves with a narrow flat bottom and are suitable for labels, nameplates, and medium-sized inscriptions. The pack contains 10 pieces of three-flute pyramid cutters made from carbide. They are clamped with a shank diameter of 3.175 mm into a CNC milling machine or engraving machine. The cutters are silver and all have identical dimensions and tip shape.

  • Balanced angle 40° — the tip angle lies between slender and wide V-cutters. The groove is sufficiently pronounced yet does not grow into an unnecessarily wide line.
  • Reinforced tip 0.2 mm — the end of the tip has a flat area 0.2 mm wide, making it less prone to breaking than a 0.1 mm tip. The bottom of the groove is therefore slightly flat.
  • Tool length — the total length of the cutter is 30 mm. The short cutter remains stable during engraving, bends less, and is easy to clamp in the collet.
  • Three-flute cutting part — the pyramid tip with three flutes removes material gradually, as the flutes alternate in engagement during rotation. Chips have a free path from the groove on three sides.
  • Carbide cutter — the tools are made from carbide, a hard material commonly used for engraving cutters. It is harder than tool steel.
  • Shank for 1/8 inch collet — the shank diameter is 3.175 mm. Use a collet for this diameter, as a 3 mm collet will not securely grip the cutter.
  • Labels and nameplates — the combination of a 40° angle and a 0.2 mm tip is suitable for nameplates, descriptive labels, inscriptions on signs, and simpler ornaments. The lines have a distinct edge and a narrow flat bottom.
  • Line width — the groove is approximately 0.2 mm wide at the bottom and expands with the cutting depth according to the 40° angle. You can easily adjust the line width with the set depth in the programme. A shallow cut yields a thin line, while a deeper cut produces a more pronounced groove.
  • Identical parameters — all ten cutters have the same angle, tip, and length. After replacing a worn piece, you can continue with the same engraving programme settings.
