You already have the maximum available quantity in your cart.
Bulbine natalensis is an impressive perennial succulent herb originating from the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal and surrounding areas, where it grows on sunny slopes, in forest clearings, and along rivers. This pack contains 10 seeds, allowing you to grow your own young plant of this remarkable collectible perennial. The main ornamental feature of the plant is its upright racemes with small star-shaped yellow flowers, which open gradually upwards, forming a characteristic conical apex with still undeveloped buds at the top. The flowers are complemented by typical hairy yellow stamens, which adorn the mature plant with a delicate fuzzy structure. The foliage consists of thicker fleshy green leaves arranged in a basal rosette, giving the plant a more robust appearance than its smaller relatives.

Sowing Bulbine natalensis is very easy and suitable even for novice succulent growers. We recommend using a well-draining substrate with a high proportion of sand, perlite, or fine grit, and to lightly press the seeds onto the surface to ensure they receive enough light for germination. Place the germination tray in a bright warm location with a temperature of around 22 °C and keep the substrate only slightly moist until the seedlings establish. After germination, the plants grow quickly and soon begin to form the characteristic more robust rosette of fleshy leaves, from which flower stalks gradually emerge. In European conditions, the plant thrives best in indoor environments or on balconies, where it can enjoy full sun in summer and be moved to a bright cooler room with limited watering in winter. This pack of 10 seeds of Bulbine natalensis is therefore a suitable start for anyone looking to add a lesser-known South African succulent perennial to their collection.
