You already have the maximum available quantity in your cart.
Bromelia karatas is an impressive tropical plant from the bromeliad family, native to the vast regions of Central and South America, where it forms part of dry savannas and subtropical forest edges. This small package contains 4 seeds, allowing you to try cultivating this unusual collector's plant from the very beginning. The most striking feature of the mature plant is its pink-red fleshy fruits, which densely cluster in the centre of the leaf rosette, forming a typical grouping resembling a miniature pineapple. Complementing these fruits are long, stiff, lanceolate green leaves with spines along the edges, giving the mature plant a dramatic and unmistakable appearance. This species is suitable for collectors of tropical plants, lovers of bromeliads, and anyone seeking an original specimen for a well-lit interior, conservatory, or greenhouse.

Contents of the Package:
- 4 seeds of Bromelia karatas
Growing bromeliads from seed is a long-term endeavour that requires patience and a stable warm environment throughout the seedling development. For successful germination, we recommend sowing in well-draining substrate with sphagnum or perlite, which ensures good water drainage while retaining necessary moisture. Cover the germination tray with film or place it in a mini-greenhouse, where the temperature does not drop below 22 °C and the air humidity remains consistently high. Young plants grow very slowly and in the first years only form small leaf rosettes, which gradually acquire the characteristic spiky nature. For successful long-term cultivation in European conditions, it is advisable to place the plant in a well-lit room or greenhouse with temperatures consistently above 12 °C and provide light fertilisation during the main growing season. This package of 4 seeds of Bromelia karatas is an excellent starting point for collectors seeking a rarely offered species for their collection of tropical plants.
