Brachyotum Ledifolium Seeds 10 pcs Andean Shrub with Creamy Pink Bell-Shaped Flowers for Sowing and Collectors' Cultivation
You already have the maximum available quantity in your cart.
Brachyotum ledifolium is an exceptional evergreen mountain shrub belonging to the tropical family Melastomataceae, which naturally occupies higher altitudes in the Andean mountains of Colombia, Ecuador, and neighbouring countries. This package contains 10 seeds, allowing you to try cultivating this rarely offered woody plant at home. The most distinctive feature of the plant is its hanging tubular flowers with a creamy yellow lower half and a contrasting pink-red upper part, whose surface is covered with fine hairs. Complementing the flowers are small grey-green ovate leaves with a dense hairy covering, giving the mature plant a soft, slightly silvery appearance. The species grows slowly, but over time forms a compact, globular-shaped shrub that is popular among collectors of South American flora, hobby botanists, and lovers of less traditional house exotics.

Contents of the package:
- 10 seeds of Brachyotum ledifolium
Growing Brachyotum from seeds is a more challenging discipline reserved for more experienced growers, as the seeds germinate slowly and seedlings require stable humidity in both air and substrate during the initial weeks. For successful sowing, it is advisable to use acidic peat-based substrate with a share of perlite or sand, which ensures good aeration for young roots. After germination, the plants slowly produce their first leaves and gradually branch into a compact shrub, which in winter requires cool overwintering in a bright space with temperatures around 8–12 °C. Given that the species naturally grows in mountainous areas with frequent mists and cooler nights, it appreciates a combination of light, fresh air, and higher air humidity. This package of 10 seeds of Brachyotum ledifolium is ideal for collectors seeking a lesser-known species for their collection of mountain Andean plants and who are not afraid of the challenges associated with its long-term cultivation.
