Overview
Bamboo Blind 40 x 120 cm Sun Protection for Balcony and Terrace Windows Longer Version Rolled Up with Cord Natural Brown Colour

The longer version of the bamboo blind measuring 40 x 120 cm covers even higher windows, narrow glazing next to doors, or open spaces between columns on the terrace. The individual bamboo slats are connected by cords, maintaining a straight shape and together forming a continuous strip that can be rolled up at any time. Light passes partially between the slats, so the room does not become completely dark, but the harsh midday rays are diffused into a soft shadow. The side cord is used for raising and lowering and the blind aligns into a compact roll at the top edge, which does not obstruct the view. The warm brown tone of the natural bamboo retains the pattern of the individual stalks and does not appear as an industrial material. Thus, the blind serves as a sunshade and also acts as a natural decoration for window walls, porches, or covered balconies.

  • Length 120 cm — the longer area covers higher windows and French glazing, where a shorter blind does not reach the sill or the floor, allowing light to pass through from below.
  • Width 40 cm — the narrow strip is suitable for a single window sash, for a side skylight, or for the gap between furniture and the window, where a wider shade would be obstructive.
  • Connected Slats — bamboo slats are joined by cords across the entire width, maintaining a flat plane and do not warp or crease like fabric screens.
  • Rolled Up with Cord — pulling the cord lifts the area into a roll, and releasing it unfolds it across the full height of the glazing.
  • Airflow — air flows through the gaps between the slats, so it does not become hot behind the blind like it would behind a dense fabric screen or foil.
  • Natural Brown Colour — the warm shade of bamboo complements wooden sills, rattan furniture, and greenery in planters on the railing.

The longer format proves useful where the sun strikes low on the horizon and a shorter shade no longer covers the entire glass area. It is advisable to guide the cord straight when operating, to ensure the slats roll evenly and the bottom edge of the blind remains horizontal. Bamboo is a natural material, so the shades of the individual stalks may vary slightly and the surface will develop a patina over time, which is a normal characteristic, not a defect. Prolonged exposure to rain or constant moisture is not beneficial for bamboo, so in winter the blind should be rolled up and stored in a dry and ventilated place. Dust can be swept away with a soft brush along the slats; wet cleaning and soaking are not recommended for this material. When removing, the blind is rolled up from the bottom edge to prevent the cords from tangling and the slats from sitting on top of each other.
