Overview
19 mm Ratchet Wrench with Ratchet in the Socket and Open End with Precision Gearing with 72 Teeth and a 230 mm Arm in Dark Grey Finish for Wheels and Machines

Nineteen millimetres is the size on which wheel nuts depend for a range of vehicles, as well as some stabiliser pin hubs and flanges on machine connections. It is often tightened with considerable torque, so it is highly valued when the wrench has a sufficiently long arm and a ratchet at the closed end, which prevents the need to reposition the tool after each pull. The 72-tooth gearing requires only five degrees of rotation for the next engagement, allowing the nut to move even where the hand encounters a wheel arch or cover. The open end on the other side addresses joints that the socket cannot access, such as fittings and nuts on pipes. The arm is 230 mm long and corresponds to the load that this size typically handles. The socket has a width of 38.5 mm with a thickness of 11.5 mm, the open end measures 40 mm, and is 8.5 mm thick. The body is dark grey, the ratchet ring is gold-coloured, and the number 19 is embossed on both sides of the arm. The arm has a flat profile with a slight curve near the head, allowing it to run closely along sheet metal and frames.

  • 19 mm Ratchet in the Socket — the nut is threaded and tightened in one motion back and forth, without repeatedly removing the wrench from the joint.
  • Precision Gearing with 72 Teeth — engages every 5° to keep work flowing even in places where the arm travels only a short distance between two parts.
  • 230 mm Arm — the length provides leverage for tightening wheel nuts as well as loosening suspension pins, without needing to adjust with a pipe.
  • Socket Thickness of 11.5 mm — the robust head transmits high torque without flexing, and the gearing remains securely engaged even when tightening to the limit.
  • 40 mm Open End — the open end, 8.5 mm thick, can be applied sideways to nuts on hydraulic fittings and hoses, where a closed head cannot fit.
  • Direction Switch — the lever in the ring changes direction, allowing the same engagement to loosen and then tighten the joint without turning the wrench in hand.
  • Embossed Number 19 — the marking on both sides of the arm distinguishes the wrench from similar sizes even after being soiled with grease.

This tool is suitable for automotive workshops for wheel changes as well as for use in workshops for agricultural and construction machinery, where nineteen millimetres appears on axle frames and flanges. It is also useful for assembling steel structures and for repairs of towing equipment. The ratchet side is used for threading long bolts and tightening; for the initial break of a heavily tightened or rusted nut, it is advisable to use a fixed wrench or socket, as impact loading wears out the gearing most quickly. The socket must fit fully, otherwise, the torque will only be transferred to part of the edges, causing the nut to deform, which is especially true for galvanised fasteners. The thickness of the socket at 11.5 mm keeps the head shape-stable even under higher loads, so it does not expand under pressure. It is advisable to protect the ratchet mechanism from water and fine dust; a simple blow to remove debris and a drop of oil will keep it operating smoothly. The dark grey finish with a gold ring is easy to wipe clean of grease, and the wrench can be hung on a panel or stored in a drawer of a trolley. As a standalone piece, it adds the size that is most frequently used in the workshop to the set.
