Electric bikes

An electric bike covers longer routes and climbs with less effort and suits commuting, trips and off-road. Here you will find electric bikes of various types — city and trekking, mountain, folding and cargo, with the motor in the wheel hub or in the middle. The models differ in battery capacity, range and assist level, so choose according to use.

Electric bikes

A bicycle with an added electric drive makes climbing easier, extends the range and lets you cover longer routes comfortably without much effort. Electric bikes suit daily commuting, leisure trips and more demanding terrain and differ in construction, motor type and battery capacity.

Depending on use, several groups can be distinguished. City and trekking e-bikes suit commuting and longer rides on surfaced roads. Mountain e-bikes (eMTB) have a sturdy frame and suspension for off-road, while folding and cargo models solve transport and load. The motor position also differs — in the wheel hub or centrally at the pedals, which affects the ride feel.

A key parameter is the battery and range. Capacity is given in watt-hours (Wh) and, together with the assist mode, the rider's weight and the route profile, determines how far you get on one charge. Most electric bikes offer several assist levels, and the drive engages while pedalling up to a speed of 25 km/h, as the law requires.

When choosing, think about where you will ride most often, how long your planned routes are and what frame size you need. For the city a lighter model with a smaller battery is enough; for longer rides and off-road a stronger motor and larger capacity pay off. Do not forget compatible accessories such as a charger, mudguards, a rack or a lock.
