For large livestock, external examinations often fail because the probe must pass through too thick a layer of tissue. The rectal probe bypasses this problem: it has the shape of a narrow rod and is inserted through the rectum, thus being close to the organs of interest. The frequency 6.5 MHz provides a detailed image at a short distance suitable for assessing the reproductive and digestive tracts of horses, cattle, camels, and other large animals. The image is displayed on a 5.6-inch screen of the main unit, which you carry over your shoulder with a strap and control with the other hand. The compact body measuring 240 x 120 x 45 mm does not obstruct even when working in a standing position.
