3D printing accessories help keep the printer in shape and bring prints to their final form. The quality of 3D printing does not depend only on the printer, but also on the details around it — on the surface the print comes off, on the state of the nozzle or on how you finish the model after printing. 3D printing accessories cover wear parts, tools and aids for post-processing.
Spare and wear parts include nozzles of brass and hardened steel for abrasive materials, PTFE tubes, belts or hotend parts, which wear out over time. Print beds and plates — magnetic, with a PEI surface or made of glass — affect the adhesion of the first layer; glue sticks and adhesion sprays help as well. Finishing tools, that is spatulas, pliers for removing supports, files and sandpaper, bring the print to a clean form.
For filament printing, dryers and spool holders are useful, keeping the material dry and free of tangles. Resin printing has its own equipment: spare FEP films, washing and curing stations, nitrile gloves and filters for pouring resin.
When choosing, always check compatibility with your printer — for nozzles the diameter and thread type, for beds the size and mounting. Also consider the materials you print with; abrasive filaments with carbon or metal require a hardened nozzle. With resin, work with gloves, ensure ventilation and keep accessories and chemicals out of reach of children.
