This wooden rolling pin transforms an ordinary sheet of dough into a cheerful Christmas picture. The entire circumference of the roller is engraved with a design of gifts, bells and stockings, among which you will also find snowmen, Christmas ornaments, candy canes, mittens, stars and snowflakes. First, roll the dough to the desired thickness and then roll over it in one motion with the patterned roller. The entire surface will be covered with small winter motifs from which you can cut out any shapes. The roller measures a total of 35 cm, with the patterned section being 16 cm long and 4.5 cm in diameter.
The motifs are arranged loosely and densely next to each other on the roller, so each biscuit will feature a different combination of images. The dough should be chilled and not sticky; otherwise, the delicate motifs will blur. You can lightly dust the sheet with flour before rolling and roll evenly and only once to avoid doubling the images. Carefully transfer the patterned biscuits to the baking tray, for example using a spatula. After use, clean the roller with a dry brush and rinse with water if necessary; do not leave it in water or put it in the dishwasher. Allow it to air dry and occasionally rub it with a little edible oil. Store it in a dry place, preferably wrapped in a cloth or in a paper bag, to prevent dust from settling on the engraved surface and to keep the wood looking nice for a long time.
