The screw thread 55 mm lens hood is a simple accessory for outdoor photography, in bright sunlight and backlighting. The hood has a classic tulip shape with petal cut-outs and easily screws onto the filter thread on the front of the lens. It helps to shade the front lens from side light, which otherwise creates glare and a bright haze in images. Photos then have better contrast and richer colours, even when shooting against the sun or another strong light source. It is suitable for camera lenses from Canon and other brands, provided they have a filter thread with a diameter of 55 mm.
The hood is made of black plastic, which discreetly matches most lenses and cameras. In addition to reducing glare, it also serves as mechanical protection for the front part of the lens. Before purchasing, check the thread diameter of your lens. This is usually indicated on the front of the lens, on the barrel, or on the inside of the lens cap, typically with a diameter symbol and a number in millimetres. Screw the hood on straight and gently to avoid damaging the thread, and tighten it just enough to hold firmly. The longer cut-outs of the tulip hood should face up and down, while the shorter ones should face sideways, so the hood does not intrude into the corners of the frame. The hood only needs to be wiped occasionally with a dry or slightly damp soft cloth, and any dirt inside the hood can be removed with a blower or brush.

How do I return goods?

If the goods need to be sent back, we will refund the postage for a valid claim (just provide the receipt).
