The square lens hood is designed for lenses with a filter thread diameter of 49 mm and gives the camera a distinctive look reminiscent of classic models. The hood limits side light that hits the front lens and creates glare, haze, and reduced contrast in images. It is made from aluminium alloy, making it sturdy and well-shaped. It attaches by screwing onto the lens thread using the included reduction ring. It is suitable for lenses of Fujifilm, Canon, Nikon, Sony, Leica, and Panasonic cameras.

The hood has its own 52 mm thread, which is why a 49-52 mm reduction ring is included in the package. The ring is first screwed onto the lens with a 49 mm thread, and then the hood is screwed onto it. The included square-shaped rubber cap fits onto the front edge of the hood, protecting the front lens from dust, fingerprints, and scratches while transporting the camera. The hood, ring, and cap are all black, making them unobtrusive on the camera. Additionally, the hood protects the front of the lens from accidental impact.

The hood is useful for outdoor photography on sunny days, when shooting against the light, and during street and travel photography, where light changes and hits the lens from various angles. It is also suitable for smaller mirrorless cameras, where the square hood complements the overall appearance of the camera. At the same time, it creates a protective frame around the front lens, preventing fingers or objects in the bag from touching it.

Before ordering, please verify the diameter of your lens thread. This information is usually marked on the front of the lens or on the inner side of the original cap with the symbol Ø, for example, Ø49. The rubber cap measures approximately 7 x 6 cm and can be left on the hood while transporting the camera. Thanks to the height of the hood being approximately 2 cm, the assembly remains compact and fits into a bag.
