Square Lens Hood 39 mm Aluminium Alloy Sunshade with 39-52 mm Step Ring and Cap Black for Leica and Fujifilm

The square metal hood is designed for lenses with a filter thread diameter of 39 mm and gives the camera a classic retro look. The hood shields the front lens from side light, which creates glare, haze, and reduces contrast in photographs. The body is made of aluminium alloy, making the hood sturdy and well-suited for regular use. It attaches to the lens by screwing on through the included step ring. It is compatible with lenses from Fujifilm, Leica, Canon, Sony, Nikon, and Panasonic cameras.

The hood has its own 52 mm thread, which is why a 39-52 mm step ring is included. The ring is first screwed into the lens with a 39 mm thread, and then the hood is screwed into it. The included square-shaped rubber cap fits onto the front edge of the hood, protecting the front lens from dust, fingerprints, and scratches during transport. The hood, ring, and cap are all black, making them unobtrusive on the camera. Additionally, the hood protects the front part of the lens from accidental impacts.

The hood is ideal for outdoor photography in sunny weather, when shooting against the light, and during travel and street photography, where light hits the lens from various directions. On smaller mirrorless cameras, the square shape of the hood complements the overall look of the setup. The hood also creates a protective edge around the front lens, preventing fingers or objects in the bag from touching it during handling.

Please check the diameter of your lens thread before ordering. This information is usually marked on the front of the lens or on the inner side of the original cap with the symbol Ø, for example Ø39. The rubber cap measures approximately 7 x 6 cm and can be left mounted directly on the hood during transport. With a height of approximately 2 cm, the setup remains compact and fits into a bag.
