The square metal hood is designed for lenses with a filter thread diameter of 37 mm and gives the camera a classic retro look. The hood shields the front lens from side light, which can create glare, veiling, and reduce contrast in photographs. The body is made of aluminium alloy, making the hood sturdy and able to withstand regular use. It attaches to the lens by screwing on via the included adapter ring. It is suitable for lenses of Fujifilm, Leica, Canon, Sony, Nikon, and Panasonic cameras.

The hood has its own 52 mm thread, and therefore a 37-52 mm adapter ring is included in the package. The ring is first screwed onto the 37 mm threaded lens, and then the hood is screwed onto it. The included square rubber cap fits onto the front edge of the hood, protecting the front lens from dust, fingerprints, and scratches during transport. The hood, ring, and cap are all black, ensuring a discreet appearance on the camera. Additionally, the hood protects the front of the lens from accidental impacts.

The hood is helpful for outdoor photography in bright sunlight, when shooting against the light, and during travel and street photography, where light hits the lens from various angles. On smaller mirrorless cameras, the square shape of the hood complements the overall look of the setup. Before ordering, please check the diameter of your lens thread. This information is usually marked on the front of the lens or on the inner side of the original cap with the symbol Ø, for example Ø37. The rubber cap measures approximately 7 x 6 cm and can be left on the hood during transport. With a height of approximately 2 cm, the setup remains compact and fits into the bag.
