The keyless chuck acts as a converter between hex fittings and tools with a round shank. The clamping range of 0.8 to 10 mm covers fine drill bits for small holes as well as thicker shanks that the bit holder alone cannot accommodate. The 1/4" hex shank is attached in one motion, allowing the entire adapter to be replaced without additional tools and without disassembling the machine. The keyless design means that the jaws are tightened by rotating the chuck by hand, the same motion used to loosen them. Long grooves around the chuck increase friction under the fingers, ensuring that tightening does not slip even with stronger torque.

Machines with a bit holder only accept tools with a hex shank, so a standard drill bit with a round shank remains unused in them. This adapter bridges the gap between the two types of shanks and expands the set with drill bits that are already in the workshop without the need to purchase their hex counterparts. Keyless clamping reduces the tool change to a twist of the chuck, which is useful when the diameter changes every few holes. The range up to 10 mm can handle drill bits commonly used for mounting shelves, anchoring into wooden beams, or drilling holes for cables. The compact shape with a metal shank keeps the entire assembly short, allowing it to fit even between closely spaced components where a longer adapter would hit. Before the first use, simply check that the tool shank is fully inserted and that the jaws are fully engaged to prevent the drill bit from wandering at startup. The chuck can then remain attached throughout the work, with only the tools being swapped according to the required hole diameter. After drilling, the shank can be removed as quickly as it was attached, and the machine remains ready for regular screwing tasks.
