Bluetooth audio adapters
Transmitters and receivers that add Bluetooth to an older amplifier, a TV or a car radio — with a 3.5 mm jack, RCA and an optical input. Choose by the direction of transmission and the socket on your device. A low-latency codec has to be supported by the transmitter and the headphones alike.
Bluetooth audio adapters
Adapters that bring wireless sound where it is missing — receivers add Bluetooth to an amplifier, a hi-fi system or a car radio, transmitters send sound from a TV or computer to headphones, and 2-in-1 units do both.
Sort out the direction first — a receiver takes sound in and passes it to the speakers, a transmitter sends it out of the device. Choose Bluetooth audio adapters by what you need: a receiver plugged into the TV will not send sound to your headphones, even though the connector fits.
The connection comes down to the socket type — a 3.5 mm jack, RCA for amplifiers and older gear, and the optical TOSLINK input that TVs most often have. Power comes from USB or a battery; on a transmitter at the TV, USB is more practical, because the unit runs for long stretches.
With video, latency is what matters — with the common SBC codec the sound can lag behind the picture. Codecs such as aptX Low Latency or aptX Adaptive cut the delay, but the transmitter and the headphones both have to support them; otherwise the link falls back to SBC.
Some transmitters connect two sets of headphones at once, which helps when watching together. Range is usually around ten metres and walls shorten it. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions, which also cover pairing, supported codecs and connectors.
How we rank results
We determine the order of offers in search results and in category listings automatically, according to the rules below. No seller is given priority in the ranking, and it is not possible to pay us for a better position.
Search (default sorting “Relevance”): we show offers that match the search term, including those with a small deviation or only a partial match. Their order depends most on how popular the offer is with customers. If you have accepted cookies, the next biggest factor is which categories and offer attributes you have viewed during your current visit. It also matters how popular the offer is for that search term, how closely it matches the term and how popular its category is for that term.
Categories (default sorting “Best Sellers”): the offers that sell the most appear at the top.
Sorting by price: if you choose Price: Low to High or Price: High to Low, we sort by price including VAT only.
