The square metal hood is designed for lenses with a filter thread of 40.5 mm and gives the camera a classic retro appearance. The hood shields the front lens from side light, which can create glare, veiling, and reduce contrast in photographs. The body is made from aluminium alloy, making the hood sturdy and well-suited for regular use. It attaches to the lens by screwing on via the included reduction ring. It is compatible with lenses from Fujifilm, Leica, Canon, Sony, Nikon, and Panasonic cameras.

The hood has its own 52 mm thread, which is why the package includes a 40.5-52 mm reduction ring. The ring is first screwed onto the lens with a 40.5 mm thread, and then the hood is screwed onto it. A square-shaped rubber cap is included to fit onto the front edge of the hood, protecting the front lens from dust, fingerprints, and scratches while transporting the camera. The hood, ring, and cap are all black, making them unobtrusive on the camera. Additionally, the hood protects the front of the lens from accidental impacts.

You will find the hood useful when shooting outdoors in bright sunlight, photographing against the light, or during travel and street photography when light hits the lens from various directions. Before ordering, please check the diameter of your lens thread. This information is usually marked on the front of the lens or on the inner side of the original cap with the symbol Ø, for example Ø40.5. The rubber cap measures approximately 7 x 6 cm and can be left on the hood while transporting the camera. With the hood height of approximately 2 cm, the setup remains compact and fits into the bag.
