Overview
Round Bread Lame 4.5 cm with Finger Grooves and 5 Blades Ergonomic Wooden Disc with Leather Case for Scoring Sourdough

The round bread lame is a small hand tool for precise scoring of the dough surface before baking. It consists of a wooden disc with a diameter of 4.5 cm, between whose two halves a double-sided lame is secured. On the top side of the disc, there are three selected grooves where fingers naturally fit, allowing the tool to be held firmly and steadily in the hand. The blade made of stainless steel cleanly cuts the surface of sourdough bread without tearing the dough. Due to its small size, the disc comfortably fits in the palm and in kitchen drawers.

The ergonomic shape with grooves helps guide the cut evenly, whether you are making a simple longitudinal score on a baguette, a grid on a loaf, or a more decorative pattern on sourdough bread. The blade is inserted between the two halves of the disc, which can be loosened by turning and tightened again by turning it back. After use, the blade can be retracted into the disc, making the tool safer for storage. The disc has a thickness of 0.9 cm and only the necessary part of the blade protrudes from the side.

Scoring the surface is not just decoration. The score determines where the bread will open during baking and helps the dough rise evenly in the oven without uncontrolled cracking of the crust. With a sharp lame, the dough does not pull, and the edges of the cut remain clean, allowing the typical ear to form beautifully on the baked loaf. This tool is appreciated by both beginners and experienced bakers who regularly bake bread.

When replacing the blade, hold the disc with one hand, use the other hand to turn the top half, insert the new lame according to the central peg, and tighten the disc again. Score with a quick and smooth motion at a slight angle, preferably just before placing the dough in the oven. After use, carefully wipe the blade and keep the wooden disc dry. Store the tool and spare blades in the case to protect them and keep them out of reach of children.

The round lame with finger grooves is a practical helper for home bakers and sourdough enthusiasts. The compact wooden disc is easy to hold and allows you to guide the cut precisely where you need it. In the package, you will find 5 lame blades, so you always have a replacement at hand. The leather case facilitates safe storage of the tool and blades. It is suitable for everyday bread baking as well as for decorating festive baked goods.
