The large water feeder for ants with a transparent tube measuring 20 x 150 mm holds a larger supply of water, so you do not need to refill it as often. The tube is set in a grey holder, which connects to nesting modules as well as feeding arenas of the same modular system. According to the manufacturer, the feeder is made from stone material, which is not damaged by ants and is not susceptible to mould. You can see the water level through the transparent tube at a glance. The feeder is particularly suitable for larger colonies and more extensive formicarium setups.
The holder has two side grips with holes and is attached to the module frame with 2 screws, which you will find in the package. The tube stands vertically, and its rounded top end rises above the surrounding modules, making the feeder clearly visible in the setup. You can connect it to the nest, to the arena, or to any module with a free connection point. As the colony grows and you expand the setup, you can simply unscrew the feeder and relocate it. Before first use, rinse the feeder with clean water and let it drain. Firmly screw the holder to the module so that the tube stands straight and does not move. Refill the water according to the colony's consumption and ensure that no debris remains in the tube. When cleaning, disconnect the feeder, rinse it, and let it dry before the next use. Place the entire setup out of direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent the water from heating unnecessarily and evaporating. When away for an extended period, check that the tube is sufficiently filled before leaving.
