Overview
Cyanotype Paper A5 24 Sheets 14.8 x 21 cm with Transparent Cover Blue Sun Paper for Plant Prints and DIY Crafting

Cyanotype paper is a simple way to create original images at home, at school, or in the garden using just the sun and water. The package contains 24 sheets in A5 format and a transparent cover under which you can press leaves, flowers, feathers, or other flat objects. After exposure and rinsing with water, a white imprint of the shape you placed on the paper will remain on the deep blue background. Cyanotype, or sun printing, is an old photographic technique that can easily be tried by both children and adults. For one image, 5 to 15 minutes in the sun and a brief rinse in water are sufficient.

Each sheet measures 14.8 x 21 cm, allowing for individual fern leaves, twigs, small flowers, or combinations of multiple elements in one composition. The cover measures 14 x 21 cm and has a thickness of 1 mm. Before first use, simply remove the protective film. The cover keeps the plants pressed against the paper so they do not shift during exposure. Instead of sunlight, you can also use a UV lamp, so crafting can be done indoors.

  • Type – cyanotype paper (sun printing)
  • Paper format – A5, 14.8 x 21 cm
  • Number of sheets – 24
  • Cover – transparent, 14 x 21 cm, thickness 1 mm, with protective film
  • Paper material – natural fibre
  • Result – white imprint on a blue background
  • Exposure time – 5 to 15 minutes in the sun, until the paper changes colour
  • Light source – sun or UV lamp
  • Development – rinse with clean water for approximately 30 to 60 seconds
  • Package contents – 24 sheets of A5 cyanotype paper and 1 transparent cover

The process is easy. Arrange your chosen objects on the paper, cover them with the board, and expose to sunlight until the paper lightens. Then rinse the sheet in water until the water runs clear, and let it dry flat in the shade. Store unused sheets in a sealed container protected from light. The best results are achieved when the paper is used within six months, as the effect deteriorates with longer storage.

The set of 24 sheets of cyanotype paper is suitable for family crafting, art education, camps, clubs, and libraries. From the finished prints, you can create framed pictures, greeting cards, bookmarks, or a herbarium from your own collections during walks. The format 14.8 x 21 cm is easy to frame and works well even on a smaller table. The transparent cover helps keep the plants in place throughout the exposure. The set is ideal for anyone wanting to try sun printing for the first time and see what the prints of various plants look like.
