The 4-module feeding arena is a spacious outworld where ants forage for food and you can watch them comfortably. The arena consists of a grey frame in a 2 x 2 module layout topped by a tall transparent cover that creates plenty of room for the whole colony to move. The overall dimensions are 120 x 120 x 95 mm, so the arena offers considerably more space than the low versions of the same system. The cover lid has four black knobs and a brass fitting. The arena is designed to be connected to a nest or other modules of the modular formicarium.
Around the frame there are a total of 8 entrance holes with a diameter of 10 mm, so you can connect the arena to the nest from several sides, depending on what suits your setup. According to the manufacturer, a water feeder and a waste area can also be connected; these are sold separately as further parts of the same series. The transparent walls of the cover let you watch the ants foraging from all sides without having to open anything. The grey modules are joined with screws, which are included in the package.

After assembly, place the arena on a flat, stable surface, ideally away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Connect it to the nest through one of the entrance holes and keep the unused holes closed so the ants cannot escape. Put food into the arena after removing the lid and remove leftovers regularly to keep it clean. Simply wipe the transparent cover with a soft cloth as needed. When you want to expand the setup, connect more modules of the same system through the free entrance holes.
The feeding arena with four modules and a tall cover is suitable for keepers who want to give their colony plenty of room to move while keeping it in clear view. The frame in a 2 x 2 module layout offers a large foraging area, and eight entrances give you freedom when assembling the setup. The transparent cover, 95 mm high, allows comfortable observation from all sides. The arena can be complemented with a water feeder and a waste area to gradually create a complete ant nest. It is a practical part for every growing modular formicarium.
