Solar wall lights brighten a front door, garage, fence or steps without mains wiring or electrical work. The sun charges them during the day and they switch on by themselves at dusk. Choose from small guide lights, bright motion sensor lights and lights styled like a classic lantern.

Small guide lights with 4 to 10 LEDs gently mark steps, fences or driveways, and some can be fixed to a wall or pushed into the ground. By the door or on the patio, lanterns with an LED filament bulb recall a traditional lamp.
Security lights with a motion sensor have dozens to hundreds of LEDs and switch to full brightness as soon as they detect movement. They usually offer 3 modes: light on motion only, dim constant light or a combination of both. Models with rotating heads light the door and driveway at once, and some come with a remote control.
Mount models with a built-in panel on a wall that gets direct sunlight, ideally south-facing. For a shady spot under a porch roof or in a passage, choose a model with a separate panel on a 5 m cable that you place in the sun. An IP65 to IP67 rating protects the lights from rain and snow, so they can stay outdoors all year.
