Solar string lights
Solar string lights decorate a fence, pergola, balcony railing or tree without extension leads or a socket. A solar panel charges them during the day and they switch on by themselves at dusk. Choose from classic LED strings or strings with lights shaped like stars, cherry blossoms or bees.

The strings differ in length and number of LEDs, from 5 m with 20 LEDs to 33 m with 330 LEDs, enough for a whole fence or a large tree. There are also star, cherry blossom and bee lights and hanging tubes with a falling-star effect. Some models have up to 8 lighting modes, from steady to flashing.
By day, the solar panel charges the built-in battery, and a dusk sensor switches the string on at nightfall. Fully charged after 4 to 8 hours of sun, it glows for about 8 to 12 hours depending on the model. An IP44 to IP65 rating protects the string and panel from rain, so they can stay outdoors all season.
Place the panel where it gets direct sunlight, ideally facing south, as the battery will not charge fully in the shade. A ground stake lets you push it into a lawn or flower bed. In winter, with shorter days, they stay lit for less time. Near a street light or other light source, the string may not switch on.
