Children's climbing shoes differ from regular trainers primarily in shape and the design of the sole — the sole is smooth, without a structured tread, and extends over the entire toe of the shoe. The front part is covered by a thick layer of rubber, which continues around the sides and forms a continuous surface where the child contacts the footholds. The upper is flexible and low-cut, allowing the shoe to conform to the foot without unnecessary bulk around the ankle. The fastening is provided by a single Velcro strap running across the instep, which tightens with a single motion and unfastens just as quickly.
