The Storm Glass in Heart Shape combines decoration and a simple weather indicator in one. Inside the sealed glass container is a liquid in which crystals form and dissolve according to changes in temperature and atmospheric conditions. The heart measures 12 x 12 cm and stands on a wooden base, into which it settles. Each day, you will see a slightly different image, from clear liquid to dense, flake-like crystals reminiscent of snow cover. It is a quiet and unobtrusive decoration that attracts the gaze of visitors.
The idea of storm glass dates back to the 18th century when similar bottles were used as a tool for estimating the weather. In clear and calm weather, the liquid is clear; during warming, fine particles may float in it, star-shaped and feathery crystals appear before rain or snow, and the liquid becomes cloudy in overcast conditions. The changes are unpredictable, making the observation of the crystals a small daily spectacle. The container is made of glass with a smooth surface, through which the happenings inside are clearly visible.
- Type – storm glass, glass barometer with crystals
- Shape – heart
- Size – 12 x 12 cm
- Material – glass, wooden base
- Usage – table decoration, shelf, windowsill, or bedside table
- Contents – 1 storm glass in heart shape and 1 wooden base
Place the storm glass in a stable location where it will not be exposed to impacts or falls. The most interesting crystals form where the temperature changes during the day, such as near a window, but not in direct sunlight or near heating. Simply wipe the glass occasionally with a soft dry cloth and keep the base dry. Do not open the container; the liquid inside is not intended for contact with skin or ingestion. When transporting, hold the heart with both hands and never lift it by the base alone. Keep out of reach of small children and pets.
The glass heart with crystals makes a lovely gift for Valentine's Day, anniversaries, weddings, or just for joy. It fits well in the living room, bedroom, office, or on a desk, where it brightens up the daily routine. With dimensions of 12 x 12 cm, it does not take up much space yet is eye-catching at first glance. It will captivate nature and meteorology lovers as well as anyone who appreciates unique decorations with a story. The crystals change slowly, so you will enjoy returning your gaze to them throughout the day and in the evening by lamp light. The combination of glass and wood appears natural and complements both modern and rustic interiors as well as Scandinavian living styles.
